Product Description
Fiano is part of our Mediterranean collection.
We started the planting in 2000 and now have 6 varieties with their origins in Italy or Spain. They are varieties well-suited to the growing conditions of McLaren Vale and deliver the bright fruit flavours of the Southern European climate.
This is a bright, fresh wine combining the warmth of stone fruit with the zip of lemon zest or grapefruit. Herbs and hazelnut are also there to be found. When it comes to food, nothing could be better than pan fried wild barramundi as a partner.
Fiano (fee-ah-noh) is from the Avellino hills region east of Napoli. It thrives is warm dry conditions typical of McLaren Vale. Its style is in between a Semillion and Viognier and is the next hit white variety in Australia. Fiano is extremely attractive to bees and is often described as ‘the vine beloved of bees’.
