Montepulciano is one of the wine varieties that makes up our Mediterranean collection which we began planting in 2000. These Mediterranean varieties are particularly well-suited to the McLaren Vale region, where the vines deliver vibrant fruit flavours traditionally associated with the wines of Southern European climate.
The 2018 H&L Montepulciano displays aromas of traditional Italian herbs and spices including oregano, finocchio marimo; followed by the juicy fruits of red plums, boysenberries, balanced with vibrant acidity and firm tannins in the palate.
Match it with spicy pork ragu rigatoni, fresh parmesan and of course wood-oven pizza.
A wine made for eating.
