Description

Cabernet Sauvignon Wine is part of our traditional Hastwell & Lightfoot range.

For more than 30 years we have been growing Cabernet varieties on our Sands Vineyards; nurturing separate blocks of varying vine ages, clones and rootstocks.

The combination of these unique parcels of grapes builds layers of complex flavours and, when matured with carefully selected oak and cellaring, creates the bedrock of a great wine.

Our 2017 Hastwell & Lightfoot Cabernet Sauvignon comes together with a small drop of Cabernet Franc which lifts the mid-palate, adding a lovely hint of spice and eucalypt.

This wine perfectly complements a flavoursome Balsamic-glazed Filet Mignon.

A wine made for eating.

1 review for H&L | CABERNET SAUVIGNON | 2017

  1. Halliday Wine Companion

The best way to describe this is robust. It’s rich with curranty fruit, threaded with dust and leaf-like flavour, and then chunky with tannin. The tannin, importantly, is attached fully to the fruit; there’s no separation. It drinks well now and has plenty of years left in the tank.,
