Barbera wine is one from our Mediterranean collection. We’ve been growing mainstream varieties for more than a quarter of a century, but we get a kick out of working with new varieties like Barbera.
Each variety comes with unique characteristics. For Barbera it is an inability to handle excessive heat, however 2016 proved a perfect summer enabling us to pick 6 tonnes of fruit showing ideal flavour /acid balance.
This wine delights with a gentle, soft yet full mouthfeel, carrying flavours of prunes and spices. The tannins are mild and the flavours linger on. A food match could be Osso Buco or Pasta Puttanesca.
Pour the 2016 Barbera and you will see it is – a wine made for eating.
