Description

Vermentino is one of the wines of our Mediterranean collection. We started the planting in 2000 and now have 6 varieties with their origins in Italy or Spain. They are varieties well-suited to the growing conditions of McLaren Vale and deliver the bright fruit flavours of the Southern European climate.

With a delightful array of citrus and tropical fruit flavours, the 2019 Hastwell & Lightfoot Vermentino is a fresh, crisp wine that demands the pairing of fresh sea spray calamari, whiting or Asian salads.

Reviews

  1. The Real Review, Huon Hooke

Straw and hay aromas, pale colour; the palate just slightly off-dry and lightly fruity. Juicy, simple, easy drinking and up-front. Good clean acidity keeps the finish alive and refreshing. A very attractive wine.

  2. QWine

Drink this sea side or on the deck as the sun falls from the afternoon’s sky. A super refreshing drink with great acidity and textural appeal to add further pleasure factor. Highlighted by old school lemonade, grapefruit plus some Mediterranean tonic water feels, this is a clean and crisp wine with a fine chalky like texture on close. I could guzzle this easy. Bravo!
